The avocado is an exotic fruit with an unusual and particular shape. It has its roots in the high grounds of the mountains in western and central Mexico, up into a part of Central America. It is also called “the eye of the alligator“. This is because of the great core enclosed inside, which resembles the eye of an alligator.


Why is it healthy to eat avocado?

The avocado is a fruit that is more and more present on our tables. In fact, according to some medical studies, this green fruit helps significantly to reduce cholesterol levels, the risk of heart disease and heart attacks and also helps to lower blood pressure. One of the reason is that avocados have a greater amount of minerals, such as magnesium, potassium, good fats and antioxidants, which are healthy for our heart, than other fruits.

The avocado is made up by the vitaminic element belonging to the group A and E; and it is extremely rich in folic acid, which is excellent for people suffering from anemia to blood or even for pregnant women! It is further possible to extract the oil from the avocado and use for the daily care of the skin or to treat dry and damaged hair. This fruit further enjoys other beneficial properties: it is able to promote recovery from depression and it prevents Alzheimer’s disease.

The avocado is also being studied in the medical-nutritional field. Dr. Abhimanyu Garg, who has conducted one of these studies, proved how the fat of this fruit has been able to decrease the level of triglycerides in the blood of a diabetic person. The avocado is one of those delicious and very tasty fruits that you can eat either for breakfast or as a snack. You can use it for a lot of quick and easy to prepare dishes.

4- ripe banana

5- Olive oil
